Area setup:Assist in setting up signs, tables, fencing, etc. in preparation for the race.
Race Day
Early morning setup:
Arrive at approximately 5:00 a.m. to help set up the start and finish lines, scaffolding, signage, etc. Also assist in the placement of cones throughout the course.
Aid stations:
This one ensures you’ll be popular! Assist with dispensing water and other sports beverages to participants as they pass the aid stations. Also call for assistance for ill or injured runners.
Spirit stations:
Entertain participants with encouragement and inspiration. Located at every mile, spirit stations can be cheering groups, bands of all kinds, disc jockeys, sports teams and mascots — any individual or organization to generate noise and enthusiasm.
Neighborhood associations:
If your neighborhood is along the marathon course, camp out in your yard to offer support. Invite your friends and family over and make a party out of it! Contact Greg Claus gclaus@www.greenville.ms.us for more information.
Course monitors:
Act as an observer throughout the course to ensure that participants do not stray from the course. Also act as traffic control on the smaller streets to ensure that automobile traffic does not interfere. Local Police will control traffic at the larger intersections.
Finish Line Area:
Assist participants after they complete the race. This could include distributing medals, providing support as they recover or escorting them to necessary medical facilities.
Post-race food distribution:
Help set up and serve participants after they cross the finish line.

Post-race disassembly:
Assist in the breakdown of the start and finish lines. Also assist in the recovery of cones throughout the course.
